March is the month of spring and the first month of the year for the ancient Romans, who dedicated it to Mars, god of war and the rebirth of nature.
In the name of this tradition, on Friday 28 March Roma World, the Ancient Rome Theme Park reopens to transport you back in time 2000 years.
The experience park located next to Cinecittà World has new features and new emotions planned to make you experience a day as an ancient Roman in a mix of history, nature and spectacle, totally zero impact.
A new version of the Gladiator Show and Falconry Show is coming, where you can admire the flight of the eagle and other birds of prey.
On 13 June, Roma On Fire returns, the spectacular evening live show with gladiator battles, chariot races, a fire show and the burning of Rome. A success honoured at the Parksmania Awards, the Oscars of amusement parks.
Roma World is also a model of eco-sustainable tourism and nature is the protagonist of every experience: with Falconieri per un Giorno (Falconers for a Day), you can explore biodiversity, with the Tour Botanico (Botanical Tour), observe up close the thousands of Bees at work in the beehives, interact with the Animali della Fattoria (Animals of the Farm), as well as enjoy barbecued meat and authentic Roman specialities in the Taberna (Tasting Room) for a journey into the flavours of the past. The Antico Mercato offers souvenirs and handicrafts inspired by ancient Rome. If you like challenges, don't miss Sfida l'Arciere (Challenge the Archer), an archery duel, and the Scuola dei Gladiatori (Gladiator School). In the impressive Castrum Armoury, you can don Roman armour and immortalise the moment with an exclusive photo. Among the most popular activities, the Ben Hur Tour takes you to the iconic arena used for the remake of the 11-time Oscar-winning film Ben Hur and Roland Emmerich's TV series Those About To Die, starring Anthony Hopkins.
The park also offers creative experiences such as the Mosaic Workshop for children and many educational activities in which hundreds of schools participate each year.
If you would like to immerse yourself in history at 360 degrees, from 13 June you can also stay overnight in an authentic Roman camp, sleeping in historical tents under the stars, like a real legionnaire.
Numerous events are scheduled until 2 November, including: the Easter and Easter Monday lunches and the Spring Breaks (25 April and 1 May), the Gladiator's Lunch for Christmas in Rome (21/04), Mother's Day and Roma Sport Experience (10-11/05), The Legion Experience re-enactment days with the Legio I Italica (13-15/06), the Night of San Lorenzo where you can admire the stars with a telescope, the Mid-August Lunch and the Pumpkin Farm for Halloween month (4/10 to 2/11).
