On Saturday, 18 May, Rome stays on until late for the Notte dei Musei, a special night dedicated to art and entertainment that has been taking place throughout Europe since 2005. Promoted by Roma Capitale, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, with the organisation of Zètema Progetto Cultura, this year, in Rome, the event celebrates its fourteenth edition.
Exhibitions, guided tours and over 100 shows of all kinds enliven this year all the spaces of the Sistema Musei di Roma Capitale, extraordinarily open from 8.00 p.m. to 2.00 a.m. with an entrance fee of a symbolic one euro (or free of charge where expressly provided and unless otherwise indicated), and many other places of the city's cultural life.
The exceptional protagonist of this edition is Alessandra Amoroso, performing at 8.15 pm at the Archaeological Park of the Caelian Hill with some of her hits in an acoustic version. Another special event is Framing Reality, curated by ORBITA|Spellbound Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza.
The performance installations by internationally renowned choreographer Jacopo Godani light up the ancient Roman architecture of the Trajan's Markets - The Museum of the Imperial Fora from 10 pm to midnight in a unique atmosphere of light and art.
But the wide-ranging programme of the Notte dei Musei 2024 does not stop here: besides a series of theatre shows, performances and concerts of different genres, from R&B to jazz, from ethnic and traditional music to the ever-present classical music, the Musei Civici di Roma Capitale offer all their visitors the chance to visit all the ongoing exhibitions.
Also open during the evening are the Planetarium of Rome (with four shows taking place inside the dome at the current admission fee and mandatory pre-sale on www.planetarioroma.it) and the Bunker with the air-raid shelters of Villa Torlonia, which can be visited at a reduced admission fee for all (with mandatory pre-sale on www.museivillatorlonia.it).
Other spaces are also participating in the event:
