More than twenty years after the last exhibition in Rome, the art of the famous Norwegian painter, one of the major exponents of the 20th century, is the protagonist of a prestigious monographic exhibition hosted in the halls of Palazzo Bonaparte.
Curated by Patricia G. Berman, one of the artist's most renowned academics worldwide, the exhibition, the most impressive to date in Italy, is an extraordinary journey through the life and artistic history of the brilliant forerunner of Expressionism and one of the most illustrious representatives of 19th-century Symbolism, a master at depicting the most intimate inquietudes of the human soul.
On display are 100 unmissable masterpieces - including Melancholy, Dance on the Beach, Girls on the Bridge, The Death of Marat, Starry Night and even one of the lithographic versions of The Scream - from the Munch Museum in Oslo.
Munch. Il grido interiore is produced and organised by Arthemisia in collaboration with the Munch Museum in Oslo, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Norwegian Royal Embassy in Rome, the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Rome - Assessorato alla Cultura. The exhibition's main partner is the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro Internazionale.
