The XXII season of concerts of The Ear of Janus 2023. Dialogues about Ancient and Modern Music continues; after the preview opening at the Centrale Montemartini on the occasion of RomaCapodarte2023, this year the event takes place partly in Villa Lante on the Janiculum hill and partly in the gardens of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia. A series of concerts and conferences are scheduled with musicians, composers and important guests of the Ensemble Seicentonovecento, in residence at the Institutum Romanum Finlandiae at Villa Lante on the Gianicolo; the group, founded and directed since 1983 by Flavio Colusso, has always been committed to revisiting the past and executing new works and this year turns 40.
The summer program includes The Swan Song by Schubert, the Æstus Ensemble with music by Callen, Janitsch, Marais, Rebel, Senaillé, Tiensuu, Telemann and the XXXI "Mattia Battistini" Opera Competition.
