Joe Satriani

The Auditorium Conciliazione hosts a night of great music with the US guitarist, composer, songwriter Joe Satriani, one of the most prestigious figures in the history of rock music who received several Grammy Award nominations. Artistically born in the 1980s, the golden age of guitarists, Satriani had begun playing guitar self-taught at age 14, influenced by the music of Jimi Hendrix. After releasing his first two solo albums, Not of This Earth and Surfing with the Alien, which turned him into a true superstar, he accompanied Mick Jagger on his solo tour of Japan in 1988. In 1992, he released the album The Extremist, featuring the famous hard rock song Summer Song, which currently has over 3 million streams on Spotify.

In the mid-1990s, Satriani founded Tour G3, a tour devised with Steve Vai and Eric Johnson to introduce the world to the most virtuosic rock guitarists: the event became a veritable institution and saw the likes of LaLonde, Timmons, Steve Lukather, John Petrucci, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brian May, Patrick Rondat, Paul Gilbert, Adrian Legg, Steve Morse, and Robert Fripp take turns on stage. In 2009, he and Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony (former members of Van Halen) and Chad Smith (former drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) founded the supergroup Chickenfoot, with which he released two albums, while continuing to work on his solo projects. His last studio album is What Happens Next, recorded with his bandmate Chad Smith on drums and with Glenn Hughes, bassist for Deep Purple.
