The Palazzo dello Sport hosts the legendary US basketball team that returns to Rome as part of the highly anticipated 2024 World Tour.
On the schedule, eight Italian dates for the exciting, iconic stars of the Harlem globetrotters performing a real show, including acrobatic dunks, spectacular slam dunks, and amazing trick shots, in an atmosphere that combines great sport, fun and the message of joy and hope that the champions have always aimed to convey to the public.
Founded in 1926 in Illinois by Abe Saperstein, the famous champions, defined as 'ambassadors of goodwill', have been considered 'messengers' of basketball since 1950, the year of their first international tour. An emblematic history that has taken them to over 120 states in front of more than 150 million spectators, marking milestones in basketball and society, such as the unforgettable 1948 and 1949 defeat of the then-world champions Minneapolis Lakers and the 1951 performance in Berlin.
Inducted in 2002 into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the highest honour in international basketball, the Harlem Globetrotters' name has always been synonymous with great athletes, such as Reece 'Goose' Tatum, Jamario Moon and the famous record-breaker Wilt 'The Stilt' Chamberlain.
