
On Sunday 18 May, from 10.00 am until evening, piazza dei Ravennati, in front of the Pontile di Ostia (Ostia pier), hosts Città Studio. Un Mare di Sapere (A Sea of Knowledge), the admission free event, open to all, dedicated to culture, training and sharing by the sea, with about 50 appointments between lessons, workshops, performances and readings for children.
Città Studio. Un Mare di Sapere is just the first step in a quality program that takes to heart the coast of Ostia and aims at its rebirth and the relaunch, thanks to culture, of an unprecedented model of public sea.
Open-air meetings, to talk about history, medicine, social sciences, technology, cinema, design and much more thanks to the collaboration of public and private universities, the Alta Formazione Artistica Musicale e Coreutica (Institutes of High Artistic Training Music and Choreography) (AFAM) and the Istituzione Biblioteche di Roma (Libraries of Rome). Among the lectures: “Ovidio, lettere sull'amore” by Sapienza Università di Roma, “Il mestiere del regista” by NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, “La fisica del caffè: scienza tecnica e ricetta della seconda bevanda più consumata al mondo” (The physics of coffee: technical science and recipe for the second most consumed drink in the world) curated by Università degli Studi Roma Tre, "Unconventional Materials - Casi di successo nella storia del design italiano attraverso l'uso di materiali non convenzionali" (Unconventional Materials - Success Stories in the History of Italian Design through the Use of Unconventional Materials) curated by Istituto Pantheon Design & Technology.
Classes, open classes and performances offered by the National Academy of Dance are also on the agenda. Six meetings of different content in the choreutic area curated by teachers of the Academy, supported by the performative actions live of the students, in which some aspects of the stories and practices of dance will be highlighted.
Città Studio. Un Mare di Sapere wants to bring knowledge outside the academic walls, creating an opportunity for proximity with the citizenry in an unprecedented context where even the students of Rome and all those who have not been able to pursue a course of study and in-depth, will be able to approach current topics, discover new passions and broaden their cultural horizons.
The event will be the translated in Italian sign language - LIS of the Dipartimento Politiche Sociali e Salute carried out by the Cooperativa Segni di Integrazione Lazio: 12 interpreters LIS to ensure full accessibility of the contents of the event.
