The Feast of the Italian Army occurs on 4 May to remember when, on the same day in 1861, a provision by the Minister of War Manfredo Fanti decreed the end of the Sardinian Army and the birth of the Royal Army, which later became the Italian Army in 1946.
Among the activities planned for the 162nd anniversary of the establishment of the Italian Army, the "Army Village" is a promotional initiative that will see various representative assets of the Armed Forces lined up in Piazza del Popolo.
All citizens will be able to approach the Army world represented by an exhibition of vehicles and equipment, a flight simulator and a motorbike driving simulator, a virtual training station, sports courses with a military connotation - a biathlon simulator, artificial climbing wall, and military fitness course - as well as a promotional stand organized by the Historical Office and the Army Advertising Centre.
Radio Esercito, the Army's web radio, with which all guests can interact, will also be at the event.
The celebrations will take place in Piazza del Popolo and on the magnificent Terrace of the Pincio, in the heart of the historic center of Rome.
