A night of celebration that brings together art, culture, music and entertainment. Musei in Musica, the historic event now in its 15th edition, returns on Saturday 29 November with over 100 performances and guided tours scheduled in civic museums and other cultural venues, which will be open exceptionally from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday morning at a special cost of €1 (or free where expressly indicated).
The 2025 edition is dedicated to Ornella Vanoni. After an opening concert featuring the Roma Capitale Local Police Band (at 7.30 p.m. in Piazza del Campidoglio), it will cross the entire city to the rhythm of the most diverse musical genres – from ethnic music to jazz, from pop to sacred and classical music, from film music to swing – reaching over 50 venues. Special guests of this edition are composer and jazz pianist Rita Marcotulli at the Centrale Montemartini (with the concert Omaggio a Ornella) and Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau with the La Veronal company at the Museo dell’Ara Pacis (with the performance Testamento).
As in previous editions, the event involves all civic museums: Musei Capitolini, Centrale Montemartini, Mercati di Traiano - Musei dei Fori Imperiali, Museo dell’Ara Pacis, Museo di Roma, Museo Napoleonico, Museo di Roma in Trastevere, Museo Pietro Canonica, Musei di Villa Torlonia (Casina delle Civette, Casino Nobile, Serra Moresca), Museo Carlo Bilotti, Museo di scultura antica Giovanni Barracco, Museo Civico di Zoologia, Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Museo di Casal de’ Pazzi, Parco archeologico del Celio - Museo della Forma Urbis. The exhibitions currently on display at the Musei Capitolini (Cartier and Myths and La Grecia a Roma - Greece in Rome) and at the Museo di Roma (Villas and Gardens of Rome: A Crown of Delights) can be visited at a reduced ticket price. The Rome Planetarium is also open (at the current price and with mandatory booking) with the show “Music Among the Stars”.
The event will also take place at other significant sites in the city, such as institutional venues – not always accessible to the public or only accessible during normal daytime hours – universities, academies, and foreign institutes, exhibition and cultural spaces. These include, for example, the Sala della Protomoteca, the Sala Santa Rita, the Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts, the Swiss Institute, the Polo Museale and Teatro Ateneo of Sapienza Università di Roma, the eCampus Telematic University, the Villa Alberoni headquarters of Luiss Guido Carli University, Palazzo Madama and the Sala Capitolare of Palazzo della Minerva, Palazzo Montecitorio, the Historical Museum of the Fire Brigade and the Acquario Romano - Casa dell’Architettura.
