The exhibition celebrates a great master of Italian contemporary art soon after his death, an artist that was the protagonist of a solitary and original path focused on the essentiality of monochrome starting from the very beginning of his career in the 1970s.
A carefully selected body of works, which includes both paintings and sculptures, transforms the spaces of the Salone Centrale into a landscape that expresses the sense and the extent of the artistic research of Ettore Spalletti who always approached the whirl of the avant-garde from a detached and strongly coherent perspective.
The color blue, which dominates the exhibition, invites the viewers to immerse themselves in this landscape and take part in an emotional experience. In the vibrations of the color following the variation of light and atmospheric conditions we can grasp the presence of a metaphysical tension, of that deep spiritual involvement that has guided the artist in his intent to translate the supernatural into something tangible, to bring the sky into a room.
The works on display come from the Ettore Spalletti Studio, with the exception of those owned by the museum that are displayed as inserts in the permanent exhibition Time is out of joint.
