Once called only the Jovinelli Theater, the Ambra Jovinelli is a theater in Rome mainly intended for comedy performances.

It was born by the will of the theatrical impresario Giuseppe Jovinelli, who wanted to build a music hall with a luxurious façade and worthy of being equated with a prose theater, usually stylistically richer and more noble. It was built in the Esquilino district.

After a series of projects signed by Pietro Chiodelli and Giacomo Radiconcini, the construction works began in 1906. The following year, Ulderico Bencivegna took over as a designer. The inauguration took place on March 3, 1909.

Original and innovative in its embellishment lines, the theater is the only one in Rome built in Art Nouveau style, characterized by a two-storey central body with large openings, crowned by a pediment with arched lines.
