Founded by Carlo Galassi Paluzzi in 1925, it organizes and promotes studies, conferences, exhibitions, guided tours to study the past and the present of the city of Rome. It publishes the review "Studi Romani" (Roman Studies) and calls for the international prize "Certamen Capitolinum", dedicated to the Latin language and literature.
