Running in Rome means running through history, surrounded by spectacular views and masterpieces of art and architecture. On Sunday 22 March, all eyes will be on Acea Run Rome The Marathon, Rome's historic marathon, which celebrates its 31st edition this year.
Because Acea Run Rome The Marathon is not just a race: it is a journey into the heart of Rome, an experience that combines sport, beauty and the thrill of running the iconic 42.195 km among the incomparable monuments and breathtaking views of the Eternal City.
As per tradition, the route is truly unique in the world and winds its way (in all weather conditions) from the Imperial Fora, against the magnificent backdrop of the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, Porta San Paolo, the Pyramid of Cestius, St Paul’s Basilica, St Peter’s Basilica, the Foro Italico Complex, Ponte Milvio and the Ennio Morricone Auditorium Parco della Musica, Piazza Augusto Imperatore and the Ara Pacis, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona. The last 2 km pass in front of the Vittoriano and the Mouth of Truth. The final effort is the triumphant arrival inside the Circus Maximus!
