Atleticom We Run Rome by night

The traditional running race is back in an evocative and unprecedented evening appointment. Atleticom We Run Rome is not only a competition, which has seen the participation of national and international athletes in its previous years but is also a celebration of the values of sport.

A colourful and festive river is ready to cross the most beautiful historic centre streets and squares. The race starts at 9.30 pm with the first wave, composed of a maximum of 2000 athletes, along a spectacular itinerary that includes the majestic Fori Imperiali  (departure and arrival location). Then, it goes through piazza Venezia, via del Corso, piazza di Spagna , piazza del Popolo, the Pincio, via Veneto, via Nazionale, via del Teatro di Marcello, piazza Bocca della Verità and the Colosseum, some of the places and monuments to admire along the route.

Besides the prestigious 10 km competitive race, all running enthusiasts can participate in the non-competitive 10 km and 5 km, which follow a reduced itinerary in the city centre. Beyond the official race results, the event is open to anyone who loves sport and the outdoors, young people, the elderly and children.

Great news of this tenth Edition is the Palio di Roma: a challenge between all the famous Roman Rioni, which was born as a tribute to the city, for the centenary of their official establishment in 1921. The starts are scheduled in "onde" (waves), each dedicated to a Rione, to ensure an adequate time interval and physical distance between the athletes. The Rione winning of the special ranking is established on the basis of the 10 best chronometric results, with a bonus in the case of greater female participation.

The event, taking place under the aegis of FIDAL, is included in the national calendar and awarded the FIDAL Silver Label, and is sponsored by CONI, Sport e Salute, Roma Capitale and Regione Lazio.
