Special openings of 2026 at the Gabii Archaeological Park

The archaeological area of the ancient city of Gabii is located 20 kilometres from Rome, at the twelfth mile of the ancient Via Prenestina, originally known as the Via Gabina, on the southern edge of the Castiglione crater—an outlying formation of the Alban Hills complex. The area was occupied until the end of the 19th century by a volcanic lake known as the lacus Buranus or Sanctae Praxedis, also referred to as Lake Castiglione, before it was drained.

Thanks to a Special Public–Private Partnership agreement with GetYourGuide, and in conjunction with #domenicalmuseo and the European Archaeology Days (#JEA2026), the Archaeological Park of Gabii will be open to visitors free of charge every weekend from Saturday 11 April 2026 to Sunday 6 December 2026.
