Festival Contaminazioni 2026

The industrial spaces of the Mattatoio complex are hosting the 18th edition of the festival conceived and directed by the students of the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica “Silvio d’Amico” – an open-air workshop where talent and academic rigor meet the boldness of experimentation, with a particular emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of expressive media. 

Through texts written specifically for the occasion, excerpts from major literary works, interactive performances, and pieces in which theatrical and cinematic expression blend with sound design, dance, and physical movement, students in the acting, directing, and playwriting programs have the opportunity to stage entirely self-directed theatrical and cinematic experiments, offering audiences fresh perspectives.

The project is sponsored by Department of Culture of Roma Capitale, Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, and Fondazione Mattatoio di Roma - Città delle Arti. All 19 events scheduled from April 6 to 12 are free of charge (with online reservations required).
