A day-long festival, in all 15 Municipalities, that puts Rome at the centre as a plural, intercultural and intergenerational city.
On 1 January, the spotlight will be on ROMA CAPODARTE 2025 Città nel Mondo, the fourth edition of the great event by Roma Capitale, which, from morning to night, will accompany the first day of the Jubilee year with a packed calendar of more than 100 completely free initiatives - from music to theatre, dance to cinema, art to literature, with many activities for children and families - dedicated to anyone who wants to spend New Year's Eve in the Eternal City.
Following the success of the 2024 edition, for the new year ROMA CAPODARTE 2025 Città nel Mondo offers a multidisciplinary programme in 80 city venues, including the Civic Museums and other exhibition spaces of Roma Capitale, the municipal libraries, theatres, cinemas and many other cultural venues exceptionally open for the occasion free of charge. There is no shortage of appointments in the city's squares, streets and many other spaces in which to celebrate the beginning of 2025 under the banner of culture and quality entertainment, thanks also to the valuable contribution of all the Municipalities that have participated in the programme, enhancing the heritage and specificities of their territories.
Among this day's surprises, an appointment at 3.30 p.m. on the Belvedere of the Janiculum Hill where, for the concert Buon anno a Roma, buon anno al mondo (Happy New Year in Rome, Happy New Year to the world), special guest is TOSCA who, with Il coro che non c'è, composed of 200 choristers from various Roman choral formations and directed by Maestro Dodo Versino, will perform a version of the Adeste Fideles in Iraqi. A powerful message of peace and sharing for the New Year, through the harmonic union of hundreds of voices. Also expected is the Anonima Armonisti, an a cappella vocal septet that will perform traditional Christmas songs revisited in a pop key (by the Associazione Culturale Decanto).
As already announced, moreover, from 5 p.m., in two less central locations in the city, musical events are scheduled with performances by artists from the area, and in closing, at 8 p.m., the concerts of two special guests: at Largo Arquata del Tronto in San Basilio, GIANCANE, a Roman musician and singer-songwriter, will be on stage with his ironic and edgy indie-folk. The Piazza del Mercato Rionale will see CiaoRino, the historic Rino Gaetano tribute band led by Alessandro D'Orazi, the pop duo Urbania and the Roman singer-songwriter Alice Caronna (by Spaghetti Unplugged) perform in the afternoon.
We move to the car park of the I.C. Pablo Neruda in Via di Casal del Marmo for the live performance of RANCORE (also at 8 pm), one of the most popular names in Italian rap, who will offer a concert-event with songs from his entire repertoire. He will be preceded on stage in the afternoon by the Roman collective Ollaround and other emerging names from the local music scene (organised by Cous Cous Unplugged). Not to be missed, at the opening, the open microphones. In both spaces, in fact, from 5 p.m., aspiring musicians will be able to take to the stage, bringing two of their songs to the public (organised by Spaghetti Unplugged; registration on site).
The full programme of ROMA CAPODARTE 2025 Città nel mondo, with many other important guests, and free events in all the city's municipalities and museums, libraries and cultural spaces, will be announced in the coming days on culture.roma.it
