The Esquilino district celebrates its 150 years with a program full of events; In fact, there are many events planned in honor of one of the most characteristic districts of Rome. Officially founded on 31 December 1874 - after being separated from the Monti district - this distict retains intact those characteristics imprinted by its history. Even today a place of residence and hospitality, of exchanges and markets, of passages and transitions, the Esquiline contains intact all these peculiar characteristics, present from the beginning.
The event, supported by the district associations and Municipality I, is characterized by cultural, sporting, solidarity events and much more. All events and demonstrations start in September and will end in December.
The Esquiline extends over the highest of the ancient seven hills of Rome. It is one of the "gates" for those arriving in the city: here is, in fact, the modern Termini Station, the largest Italian railway station.
