Ottobrata Romana XVI Edition

The Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone hosts the great event that returns in its sixteenth edition to celebrate the extraordinary heritage of Roman folk music, between historical songs and contemporary interpretations.

On stage, maestro Ambrogio Sparagna, the Orchestra Popolare Italiana and the Coro Popolare, directed by Anna Rita Colaianni, give life to an original Ottobrata Romana, dedicated to the ancient repertoire of Roman songs: stornelli, strambotti and street serenades describe some of the city's natural views. Among the songs on the setlist are the unforgettable Nina si voi dormite, composed in 1901 by Romolo Leonardi (lyrics) and Amerigo Marino (music), Er Barcarolo Romano, the 1926 classic by Romolo Balzani and Pio Pizzicaria, together as well as some poems by Gabriella Ferri, set to music by Ambrogio Sparagna and performed by the Soloists of the Orchestra Popolare Italiana and Coro Popolare.

Also participating, in an evocative piece in Neapolitan and Italian dedicated to Luigi Tenco, are Patrizio Trampetti, the historical voice of the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, and Claudia Gerini, the artist receiving the special award in honour of the extraordinary Gabriella Ferri, instituted in 2018 by the Fondazione Musica per Roma.
