There are more than 100 events scheduled for the VI edition of Tiber Day 2024 scheduled in Rome from 7 to 13 October 2024 along approximately 80 kilometers of river banks, with the most important points for the city located at the Lungotevere of Anguillara, of Ponte della Musica and of Scalo de Pinedo; but the real protagonist is above all the territory, to the north and south of the capital crossed by the river, with the points of Parco Nazzano Tevere Farfa, Ostia Antica and Fiumicino with the Imperial Ports. An important part of the event, which comes to the heart of its program from 11 to 13 October, are also the environmental parks within which various activities take place: Marconi park, Magliana park and, again, the Nazzano Tevere Farfa park , and the Imperial Ports, where citizens will have the opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors near the river. An initiative in which the Touring Club also collaborates, thanks to volunteer members in the Rome area, who offer six cultural walks along the Tiber.
The rich program in fact includes exhibitions, bike rides, aperitifs on boats under the river bridges and lots of outdoor sports. Among the most important news, we remember the extraordinary opening to the public, decided and managed by Municipality 1, of the mural by Orfeo Tamburi, "Roman Carnival", at the Palazzo dell'Anagrafe. Furthermore, in the week preceding the event, "Let's talk about the Tiber" meetings are also organised, which take place within the city's cultural venues, such as bookshops, libraries and museums, to talk about the Tiber with writers and experts.
The Tiber Day Association was formed in 2019, with the aim of bringing attention to the Tiber so that it is protected, made usable and livable, as a heritage in terms of culture, history, engineering, environment, sport, art , including the creation of a Tiber Museum in the future.
