The Convention Center La Nuvola hosts the fourth edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola, the great international modern and contemporary art fair in Rome.
Thanks to the participation of 140 Italian and international galleries, Roma Arte in Nuvola is the ideal place to meet and compare ideas and to expand boundaries, extending the offer to new and more authoritative artistic currents.
Particular visibility is reserved for Central and Southern Italian exhibitors from cities such as Naples, Catania, Pescara, Sorrento, Scicli, Avellino, Nuoro, Modica and San Pantaleo.
The host country is Portugal which, with the Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of Portugal in Italy, is promoting the State Contemporary Art Collection with a selection of works curated by Sandra Vieira Jürgens, critic and art historian.
The programme includes special meetings, exhibitions, installations and performances for a complete and high-profile offer in an evocative and vast space, divided between modern and contemporary art.
Roma Arte in Nuvola also confirms significant collaborations with public institutions, an active part in the artistic and cultural programming of the event: from the Ministry of Culture, with the special participation of some of its most representative museum and cultural institutions such as the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea and the MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica, the Direzione Generale Archivi and the Museo delle Civiltà, to the Regione Lazio and Roma Capitale.
Among this year's numerous special projects is a tribute to one of the pioneers of abstract art recognised between Europe, the United States and Japan: Pietro Consagra. His Roman studio is ideally reconstructed through a series of photographs taken by Claudio Abate and his works on display include the Matacubi, sculptures that invite you to playful and engaging interaction for a journey into the artist's creative intimacy and his unique vision of art as a complementary form of expression.
Space also for the Vedovamazzei duo with some new contemporary works and the celebrations for Piero Guccione, the great Sicilian painter, seventy years after his arrival in Rome. To him is dedicated the exhibition La città sognata Opere 1962-1972, a selection of oil on canvas works that retrace the main expressive phases of the Roman period matured alongside a great master such as Renato Guttuso.
