The 19th edition of Rome Film Fest, one of the most important events at the international level dedicated to the seventh art, has chosen to celebrate the extraordinary talent of one of the greatest masters in the history of Italian and international cinema, whose birth centenary falls this year: Marcello Mastroianni.
A three-time Oscar nominee, winner of two Golden Globes and countless awards at all major international festivals Marcello Mastroianni was the interpreter of iconic films such as Federico Fellini’s La dolce vita and 8 ½ that allowed him to conquer audiences and critics around the world. The actor will be the star of the official image of the 2024 edition, scheduled from 16 to 27 October.
A long series of initiatives and events will celebrate the actor’s immense career. These include an extensive retrospective of films, some in restored versions; documentaries, exhibitions and displays set up between the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and the Casa del Cinema; and a meeting with actress Chiara Mastroianni, daughter of the actor and Catherine Deneuve, to whom the Festival will dedicate a special tribute.
