Founded in 1983 by Miriam Mafai, Netta Vespignani, Maurizio Fagiolo, Antonello Trombadori, Alberto Ziveri, its aim is to collect and catalogue documents concerning the artistic and cultural life of Rome between the two wars. Artists, scholars and art experts are part of it. The documents are divided into a library section, a photographic section and a section of unpublished works. It was previously housed in via del Babuino.
