
On 20 July, the Italian singer-songwriter arrives on the stage of the Circus Maximus for a night of great rock and blues music of his Quando sarò grande tour, as part of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s summer season.
The artist takes the audience on an exciting musical journey, combining grit, passion and energy, accompanied by the historical BeBand – the band that has performed with him for years – the Quartetto Flegreo string quartet, and the soprano Maria Chiara Chizzoni.
Renowned for his ironic style and social commitment in his lyrics, Edoardo Bennato achieved great success in 1980 with Sono solo canzonette. He was the first Italian artist to fill the San Siro Stadium with almost 80,000 people.
Throughout his exceptional career, the musician born in 1946 has earned gold and platinum records and collaborated with some of the greatest names in Italian music. A performer and songwriter of iconic songs, including Un’estate italiana – the official song of the 1990 FIFA World Cup (together with Gianna Nannini) – L’isola che non c’è, Viva la mamma, Il gatto e la volpe, Il rock di Capitan Uncino – he describes a world of good and bad people and emotions such as love.
