The Ministry of Tourism has published a notice on the Tourism Thematic Fund, one of the interventions included in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP) to promote the development and resilience of tourism sector enterprises, and in particular digitization, innovation, competitiveness and culture. The fund is aimed at providing financial support to businesses and services that, even in the face of the crisis brought about by COVID-19, have committed to the transition to more sustainable tourism, supporting innovative investments in energy efficiency and digital and green transition, encouraging business aggregation processes and helping to increase the supply of tourist-related services.
The following business may apply: private tourism enterprises (including those operating under public concessions or under public-private partnership schemes) that provide services or supplies, or that provide or intend to provide goods and infrastructure related to the exercise of tourism activity or placed at the service of tourism professions and/or tourism supply. Eligible interventions are specified in Article 5 of the Notice. The Financial Intermediaries will make loan products, equity or quasi-equity products, or products with similar structures or effects, available to the final recipients for financing purposes. The identity and contact details of the Financial Intermediaries, how to apply for financing, and the amount of financial resources available will be announced in a later supplement to the Notice.
