Villaggio Olimpico

The Villaggio Olimpico is located in a neighbourhood close to the city centre, between the Parioli and Flaminio districts.

Designed in 1958 by Vittorio Cafiero, Adalberto Libera, Amedeo Luccichenti, Vincenzo Monaco and Luigi Moretti, the Villaggio Olimpico is composed of 1348 flats, created to house the athletes of the 1960 Olympics, and later intended for State employees.

Together with the housing, the Palazzetto dello Sport, the Stadio Flaminio and the Corso Francia viaduct were built.

Later, around the year 2000, two more focal points were added to the district: the Auditorium Parco della Musica and the sports club.
