10b Photography, founded in Rome in 2007 by Francesco Zizola, was created as a space dedicated to photography, with the aim of promoting photographic culture in Italy. In its ten years of activity, the gallery has exhibited some of the most important international authors and presented photographers who are often unknown in our country.
In its first ten years of activity, the centre has brought to Rome some of the key names in international photography such as Letizia Battaglia, Eugene Richards, Yuri Kozyrev, Gustavo Germano, Rena Effendi, Darcy Padilla, Vivian Maier, René Burri, Paul Fusco, Martin Parr, Stanley Greene, Pep Bonet and many others.
10b Photography has also experimented with the artistic direction of innovative projects, including Oltre le Mura di Roma, a photographic project created to give voice back to the Roman suburbs and culminating in a photographic exhibition held at Macro Testaccio in 2016, and Garbatella IMAGES, a visual research project conceived for the Garbatella neighbourhood, which has developed its path through the memory of the area thanks to a series of workshops, exhibitions, talks and guided tours to discover the historical and anthropological characteristics of the neighbourhood through the use of photography.
Since 2016 the studio has also decided to make the experience and relationships built up over time available to the territory, bringing the world's largest and most prestigious photojournalism competition, World Press Photo, to Rome, Ferrara, Venice and other cities in Italy, in collaboration with the Amsterdam-based foundation of the same name.
