The National Photographic Archive is among the richest, most important and articulated State photographic collections concerning Italian society since 1900 and the National heritage – historical, artistic, archaeological, landscape. The archive, founded in 1892, is formed by 400,000 B&W images of which exist the negatives; 700,000 B&W photos, only positives, coming from different collections, 20,000 colour slides.
