Forte Braschi

Forte Braschi is one of 15 forts in Rome, built between 1877 and 1891 to form the 'Campo trincerato di Roma' (Rome's entrenched camp). It is located in the district Q. XIV Trionfale, in the territory of the Municipality of Rome XIV.

It was built starting in 1877 and finished in 1881, on an area of 8.2 hectares, on via della Pineta Sacchetti. The area on which it was built belonged to Cardinal Braschi, from whom it takes its name. It was one of the 15 defensive structures of the Royal Army that made up the entrenched camp, to respond to a possible attack on the city. It ended its function in 1919.

It is currently the headquarters of the AISE, External Information and Security Agency, and of the Defense Unit Grouping and is named after Nicola Calipari.
