Palazzetto di Tizio da Spoleto

The building was constructed in the early 16th century for Tizio di Spoleto, chamber master to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, the future Pope Paul III.

The exterior paintings are one of Federico Zuccari's first personal works. According to Vasari, the frescoes were created thanks to the intercession of his brother, Taddeo Zuccari, in whose workshop he had been training since his arrival in Rome in 1550.

The figures depict scenes from the life of St. Eustace, including his Baptism and Martyrdom. The coat-of-arms of Pius IV Medici indicates that it was made in 1559, the year of his election as Pope.
