Forte Trionfale

The military complex was built between 1882 and 1888 to defend the Via Trionfale and the Valle dell'Inferno.

In 1921 it was used as a barracks by military units of the Army. The barracks were named after Captain Arnaldo Ulivelli, who died on 2 June 1907 when his balloon crashed on Via Cassia. In the 1930s a hangar was prepared for the storage of airships.

In the early 2000s it was decommissioned by the Ministry of Defense and, in 2015, Roma Capitale purchased it to make it the new headquarters of the Roma XIV Municipality and other public structures.
