Monuments, villas, churches, castles, archaeological sites, museums and contemporary architecture, as well as parks, gardens and historic courtyards: on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026, the eagerly awaited FAI Autumn Days return.
Now in its 15th edition, the event involves 350 towns and 700 little-known, normally inaccessible or unusual sites, exceptionally open to the public through visits at a voluntary contribution, shown and explained by young volunteers from the Fondo Ambiente Italiano.
Organised by the FAI delegations and groups present in every region, this unmissable weekend invites the public to discover the beauty of our country’s cultural and landscape heritage and its hidden treasures, with a particular focus, this year, on knowledge, manufacturing traditions, ancient crafts, excellence in production and creativity of Italian craftsmanship and ‘Made in Italy’ products. The event is also an opportunity to support the care, protection and promotion of Italy’s artistic and cultural heritage through the work of the FAI; visitors can support the organisation’s mission with a donation at every visit.
In Rome, you can visit places such as Palazzo Piacentini, the imposing seat of the MIMIT – Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy – on Via Veneto; Villa Giorgina (entrance reserved to FAI members), the seat of the Apostolic Nunciature in the Pinciano district, designed by the architect Clemente Busiri Vici; the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, with its Library and Archive (entry reserved for FAI members), a building just a stone’s throw from the Trevi Fountain which keeps centuries of art and architectural history; Attrezzeria E. Rancati (by booking only), a historical company specialising in jewellery, armour and props for film, theatre and television; Villa Altieri, the 18th-century seat of the Institutional Library and Historical Archive of the Città metropolitana di Roma Capitale; Villa Blanc (Sunday 11 October only), the eclectic building on Via Nomentana, now home to the Luiss Business School campus. Just outside the Eternal City, the Villa Gregoriana Park in Tivoli features an enchanting landscape with archaeological and architectural remains from various periods, waterfalls and breathtaking views.
The 2026 FAI Autumn Days are organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit and under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Lazio Region, and all the Italian regions and autonomous provinces.
