The Rhinoceros spaces at the Alda Fendi-Esperimenti Foundation – the splendid building in the heart of Rome designed by Jean Nouvel as a venue for intellectual and artistic exchange – are hosting Raffaele Curi’s new “action set”, a reflection on the value of fragility – understood not as a limitation, but as a quality capable of restoring depth to the human experience.
The exhibition unfolds across the four floors of the Rhinoceros building as an initiatory journey woven from literary, philosophical and artistic references that intertwine seamlessly. The very title of the action set encapsulates the heart of the project: fragility does not belong to the weak, but to the most sensitive souls, to artists, to those who possess the ability to look beyond the surface of things.
The installation is the natural evolution of “Prayer to Go to Heaven with the Donkeys”, Raffaele Curi’s tribute to the French poet Francis Jammes. Whilst in that work the donkey evoked goodness, simplicity and innocence, the new installation focuses on lightness, delicacy and vulnerability – elements that enrich the lives of each and every one of us.
