Not merely adornment, but art, research, culture and experimentation. This is the vision at the heart of the sixth edition of Roma Jewelry Week (RJW), the international event conceived and directed by architect Monica Cecchini, bringing together more than 130 goldsmiths, master goldsmiths, artists, designers, schools, institutions and international industry professionals in Rome. The event creates a dialogue between different skills and creative languages, highlighting jewellery as a form of cultural and artistic expression.
The Corsie Sistine of the Monumental Complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia host the event’s main exhibition, alongside a number of other venues across the city, including Villa Altieri and Incinque Open Art Monti. This city-wide programme presents works and collections by artists from Italy, Mexico, Korea, Costa Rica, Brazil, China, Romania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Thailand, Iran and Lebanon, fostering a dialogue between tradition and experimentation, established masters and emerging generations, local identities and international perspectives.
This dialogue between different experiences is also reflected in the theme of the 2026 edition, “La corona dell’ingegno, un gioiello come racconto della storia dell’arte e della cultura italiana degli ultimi ottant’anni” (“The Crown of Ingenuity: Jewellery as a narrative of the history of Italian art and culture over the past eighty years”). The theme places Italian craftsmanship and intellect at its centre, presenting jewellery as a testament to a cultural and creative heritage in constant evolution.
This vision is embodied in Capsule Aurea Roma, a project conceived by Monica Cecchini that extends the dialogue around jewellery into other artistic disciplines, including painting, sculpture, architecture, street art, dance, music and cinema. Designers, artists and master goldsmiths collaborate to create an iconic piece of jewellery, developed through a shared and equal creative process.
The cultural dimension of RJW also encompasses education and training, involving Italian and international schools and academies, including IED Roma, Accademia Italiana, Minoss Jewelry Academy from Korea, Patrizio Rocchi Italian Design School from Costa Rica, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology from China and Assamblage School from Romania. The programme is further enriched by events dedicated to fashion and performance, including the Sottrazioni fashion show and the participation of MAM – Maiani Accademia Moda, exploring the relationship between body, clothing, jewellery and contemporary creative research.
The programme is subject to change.
