After 47 years, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia's summer season finally returns to the Basilica of Maxentius for a full month of musical events featuring international artists who will bring the music of Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Gershwin, Chopin, Mozart, Handel, and Vivaldi to life under the Roman sky.
The program also includes music composed by Alexandre Desplat—a two-time Oscar winner for films such as Harry Potter, Little Women, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and The King's Speech—who takes the podium of the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, superbly conducting the orchestra.
