Cinemente. Rinascite

Now in its 12th edition, Cinemente is a project conceived and curated by Palazzo Esposizioni Roma, the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia-Cineteca Nazionale and the Italian Psychoanalytic Society, which transforms the cinema at Palazzo Esposizioni into a collective workshop – a space for analysing actions and feelings through the lens of cinema and psychoanalysis.

The focus of the 2026 edition is rebirth: the profound psychological renewal that follows a crisis, a trauma or a period of suffering, enabling one to overcome old mental patterns and achieve greater clarity and purpose in life. In an age when humanity seems to have lost all sense of logic and restraint, rebirth demands a slower, more meditative pace, capable of reawakening that empathy which, like a phoenix, rises from the ashes of the present chaos.

The screenings (on Thursdays, with free admission) have been selected for their ability to explore the dynamics of human existence and are followed by a discussion between directors, psychoanalysts and the audience, to explore together the complexities and fragilities of the individual and social spheres.
