Ute Lemper

From the cabaret stages of Berlin to existentialist Paris, passing through the melancholic tangos of Buenos Aires and the smoky jazz nights of New York, Ute Lemper returns to Italy with an exclusive and refined tour.

On stage at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the artist will present Paris Paris, a brand-new project dedicated to the great tradition of the French chanson. The concert arrives in a particularly meaningful year, marking the 70th anniversary of the twinning between Rome and Paris – an occasion that becomes an ideal cultural bridge between two capitals and two artistic traditions that shaped the twentieth century.

This intense and cinematic recital brings back to life the spirit of some of the most iconic voices and songwriters of the chanson tradition: from Édith Piaf to Jacques Brel, from Léo Ferré to Barbara and Charles Trenet. The celebrated poems of Jacques Prévert, set to music by Joseph Kosma, guide audiences on an evocative journey through Parisian parks, broken hearts and star-lit nights along the Seine.

A legendary interpreter of the repertoire of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, and often regarded as the spiritual heir to Marlene Dietrich for her stage magnetism and interpretative intensity, Ute Lemper is one of the very few German artists to achieve lasting international acclaim. Over the course of her career she has performed on the stages of the Broadway Theatre District, the West End Theatre District and major European theatres, receiving prestigious honours including the Laurence Olivier Award, the Theatre World Award and the Molière Award, as well as numerous nominations for the Grammy Awards.

With more than 30 albums released over four decades, and recently celebrated by The New York Times for the project Pirate Jenny – Songs of Rebellion Revisited, Lemper is a singer, actress, author and composer. In December 2023 her autobiography La viaggiatrice del tempo. Tra ieri e domani was published in Italy: a deeply personal memoir recounting the journey of a woman who has crossed eras, cities and artistic revolutions, always remaining true to her creative freedom.
