Dalí. Rivoluzione e Tradizione

From 17 October 2025 to 1 February 2026, the Museo del Corso – Polo museale in Palazzo Cipolla presents a prestigious exhibition offering a privileged insight into the creative universe of one of the great masters of 20th-century art.

Produced by Fondazione Roma, in collaboration with the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí and under the patronage of the Spanish Embassy, Dalí. Rivoluzione e Tradizione is a journey through the artistic life and imagination of the Catalan genius in all his aspects, among surrealism, tradition, creativity, and provocation.

Curated by Carme Ruiz González and Lucia Moni, with scientific direction by Montse Aguer, this unprecedented exhibition path winds through four sections dedicated to the dialogue between Dalí and four great personalities of art who profoundly influenced his work: Vermeer, Velázquez and Raphael, protagonists of his studies, tributes and references, and his contemporary Pablo Picasso, with whom the artist had a deep and complex relationship. The exhibition is further enriched by an in-depth look at drawings and original materials about the contents of 50 Secrets of Magic Craftsmanship, the 1948 essay on painting in which Dalí celebrates technique and composition, as well as the mastery of past geniuses.

On display are over 60 works, including paintings and drawings, accompanied by photographic and audiovisual documents, from the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí and important national and international institutions, such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, the Museu Picasso de Barcelona, and the Uffizi Galleries.

An eclectic artist and brilliant intellectual, Salvador Dalí explored various disciplines with interest and passion – science, literature, philosophy, and cinema, for which he was a theorist, director, screenwriter, set designer, and actor. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Rome Film Fest, the exhibition celebrates the bond between the unforgettable artist and cinema, inaugurating a special collaboration with the famous festival.
