From June 14 to December 28, Palazzo San Felice opens extraordinarily its doors to the public every weekend with an unprecedented and temporary visit path that tells the story of the ongoing evolution of the 19th-century architectural complex.
An unmissable experience to discover, through digital installations, historical documents, multimedia content and interactive spaces, the project, curated by architect Mario Botta, which is transforming the historic building, partially visitable, into a modern cultural centre open to citizens, the heart of the future Library of Archaeology and History of Art, currently housed in Palazzo Venezia and Palazzo del Collegio Romano.
The 45-minute visit, free of charge and with compulsory reservation, is an immersive experience between the past, present and future to explore the changing spaces and discover the new, future shapes of the palace and library through digital models and multimedia installations.
In the underground of Palazzo San Felice, the Sepulchre of the Sempronii is also visible: an extraordinary private funerary monument of Republican Rome, dating back to the 1st century B.C., it was discovered in 1863 during the construction of the building and is visible to the public for the first time.
The project of transforming the complex is promoted by the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Culture and realised by the Agenzia del Demanio.
