The music festival Resonare Fibris, an event celebrating the beauty and complexity of ancient music through restored instruments and concerts with internationally renowned artists, is back again this year. Promoted in collaboration with CIDIM - Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica (Italian National Music Committee) - and now in its third edition, the festival has five appointments at Piazza Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, which aim to enhance the musical treasures preserved by the museum. Each concert of the festival has been designed to highlight the particularity of each restored instrument, exploring a repertoire which covers four centuries of musical history.
This edition, curated by Dr. Sonia Martone, with the artistic direction of Simone Vallerotonda, features musicians from all over the world and highly prized instruments, such as the harpsichord by Ignazio Mucciardi from 1780, the three-string double bass by Gasparo da Salò from the 16th century, a string quartet by the luthier Gaetano Sgarabotto and a baroque violin attributed to David Tecchler from the early 1700s. There is also an accordion by the Balestra brothers and a romantic guitar by Gaetano Guadagnini, which expand the variety of instruments on display.
The festival therefore offers a sound journey through different eras and styles, involving the public in a unique musical experience, enriched by a precious historical and cultural context.
