In Rome, you can get around using SHARING SERVICES, shared mobility services, which allow several users to share the same vehicle.
Except for Car Sharing Roma - managed by Roma Servizi per la Mobilità on behalf of Roma Capitale - the currently active sharing services are managed by private operators:
- 3 operators for scooters (Bird, Dott, Lime)
- 2 operators for e-bikes (Dott, Lime)
- 1 operator for scooters (Cooltra)
- 4 carsharing operators (Roma Mobilità - EnJoy - Drivalia - ShareNow).
SCOOTERS AND E-BIKES IN SHARING (Bird, Dott, Lime)
Roma Capitale has redesigned the offer of scooter and e-bike sharing services to respond both to the growing demand for systematic travel and to the increased integration with public transport and greater ubiquity throughout the territory:
- free for annual Metrebus Rome or Lazio subscribers (including zone A - Rome) find out how
- service coverage with a maximum limit in central areas and a minimum limit in peripheral areas
- maximum intermodality with metro and urban railways
- protection of urban decorum
- improvement of safety standards through
- adjusting the maximum speed to 20 km/h for scooters and 25 km/h for e-bikes
- automatic switching to a maximum speed of 6 km/h in pedestrian areas
- registration for the service for over 18s only (registration with ID).
FIXED LOCATION CAR SHARING
Roma Capitale has entrusted Roma Servizi per la Mobilità with the management of the fixed location Car Sharing Service, which means that parking is guaranteed and booked in two ways
- Station-based: the car is picked up and returned to the same car park, booked at the time the car is rented.
- One way: the car is picked up in one car park and returned to another car park. Both car parks are dedicated to the service and booked together with the car rental.
