Maud Le Pladec/Centre Chorégraphique National d’Orléans – Counting Stars With You (Musiques Femmes)

Counting Stars With You (Musiques Femmes) the dance show by dancer and choreographer Maud Le Pladec, which represents a tribute to the voices of some forgotten female composers in the history of music, is on stage at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

In this new work, in fact, the great French choreographer tries to write a "secret" history of music through female creation. Thanks to the help of Tom Pauwels of the Ensemble Ictus and Chloé Thévenin, Maud Le Pladec manages to trace a secret and intimate line through the musical heritage of over a millennium: in fact we find the scores of Kassia of Constantinople, Hildegard von Bingen, Barbara Strozzi, Clara Schumann, Ethel Smyth and Lucie Antunes, who outline a new history of music written by female composers. In this new artistic project the voice, the breath, the singing, the sounds, combine with a sensual and powerful body language of great energy, dragging the six performers and dancers with extraordinary vocal abilities into a performance intertwining in a harmonious dialogue with the works of the female composers.

Maud Le Pladec is a leading artist on the international scene and is the author of the choreographies for the ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
