Concerti del Giubileo

The Jubilee Concerts, of the Jubilee is Culture Festival, in preparation for the Holy Year, continue in the autumn months. Admission is free of charge and free while places last. Further information on admission and registration will be provided near each event.
The next event will be on 3 November 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Auditorium in Via della Conciliazione, and will feature the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia performing Dimitri Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony, conducted by Maestro Jader Bignamini, currently Music Director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Then, in the run-up to the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter's in the Vatican, at 18.00 on 22 December 2024, at the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Choir of the Cappella Musicale Pontificia Sistina will perform several polyphonic compositions by Palestrina, Perosi and Bartolucci.
The first two concerts were held on 26 November 2023, with the Orchestra I Virtuosi di Kiev performing Antonin Dvorak's opera Aus der neuen Welt at the Auditorium Conciliazione, and on Sunday 28 April 2024, with G.F. Handel's Messiah, performed by the Florentine Ensemble of the Grand Prince's Musicians, conducted by Maestro Samuele Lastrucci.
