A single combined ticket to travel by train and air, with the possibility of checking in for your flight at the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport train station: this is FCO Connect, the new product offered by Aeroporti di Roma, ITA Airways and Trenitalia, based on technology provided by AccesRail, to promote sustainable mobility and simplify the travel experience for passengers who choose Rome as a departing point.
Tickets can be purchased through enabled agencies, digital channels, ticket offices and the ITA Airways Contact Center. Passengers arriving at Fiumicino Airport by a Freccia train (from Naples, Florence, Bologna, Padua and Venice) or by Leonardo Express from Roma Termini station, and continuing their journey on international and intercontinental flights operated by ITA Airways (except for the US and Israel), can now check in and leave their baggage directly at Fiumicino station and then collect it at the final destination operated by the company. The check-in service at the railway station at Fiumicino Airport will be active, on an experimental basis, for the duration of the summer aviation season, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The project is part of the agreements already signed between Aeroporti di Roma and the Ferrovie dello Stato Group to develop integrated products and facilitate connections between the country’s stations, airports and ports. Ita Airways also recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ferrovie dello Stato, aimed at effectively meeting the needs of tourism and business demand and creating an agile and convenient end-to-end travel experience.
