MuSEd - Museo Storico della Didattica - Università degli studi Roma Tre

The museum was set up a first time in 1874 and then again in 1986. It exhibits photographs, documents, books, games and educational materials (abacuses, quills, pens, inks and ink-pots) from the time of the Unification of Italy to the mid 20th century. Among the main exhibits of the collection is are construction of an early 20th century classroom – with all the original objects therein – similar to the ones set up for the peasant farmers of the Roman countryside by intellectuals like Sibilla Aleramo, Alberto Marcucci and Duilio Cambellotti. Toys invented by Cambellotti are also on display. The museum also exhibits many handwriting booklets and jotters as well as a large collection of educational material coming from the now dissolved Istituto Romano Santa Maria in Aquiro.
