Museo Tassiano

Dedicated at the poet Torquato Tasso, it was opened in 1939 in the rooms of the Convent of S. Onofrio al Gianicolo, administered by the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. The poet died in this building on 25 April 1595: his tomb is in the chapel of the church.
Some of his objects are kept here, such as the urn that held his ashes for many years, a signed letter and some personal items, including a crucifix and an antique ceramic. Display cases also contain antique editions of La Gerusalemme Liberata and other of his works.
