On Sunday 8 November, Rome hosts the Rome 15K-Ford, a running event organised by Forhans Team that brings together sport, competition and the celebration of the capital's historic heritage.
The programme features two distances, designed to welcome runners with different levels of fitness and experience. The Rome 15K, a competitive race, starts at 9 am and is the main event, challenging athletes' endurance, while the Rome 5K, a non-competitive race, gets underway at 9.15 am and offers a shorter route, ideal for those wishing to take up running or enjoy the event without tackling a particularly demanding distance. The latter also counts towards the FIDAL Lazio Regional Championships, both overall and by age category, subject to the requirements set out in the regulations.
Another highlight of the event is its spectacular route, starting and finishing in Viale delle Terme di Caracalla and passing close to some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including Piazza Venezia, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, Via dei Fori Imperiali and the Colosseum. Participants will have the opportunity to run surrounded by the beauty of the Eternal City, turning the race into an experience that combines sporting challenge with the timeless charm of Rome's monuments.
The competitive spirit is also at the heart of the event, with cash prizes for the top three overall finishers, both men and women, in the Rome 15K: €300 for first place, €150 for second and €100 for third. Awards are also available for age categories and the Rome 5K, in accordance with the official regulations.
The Rome 15K-Ford is also part of the Grande Slam del Running Città di Roma 2026, a series bringing together several running events across the capital and highlighting the contribution of local sports clubs.
Alongside competition, the event also places a strong emphasis on prevention, health and inclusion, through dedicated initiatives and the participation of people with disabilities using specially designed joëlette all-terrain wheelchairs. The Sport Expo completes the programme with sporting activities and opportunities to meet and connect, engaging the public in the days leading up to race day.
The programme is subject to change.
