The Argentina, India, and Torlonia theaters, places steeped in history, are presented through performances led by their actors and actresses. These tours explore the most hidden and fascinating spaces of these three theaters, accompanied by real or plausible historical figures who once inhabited those places.
The Lungotevere Vittorio Gassman, home to the India Theater, is a place that more than any other represents the capital's attempted industrialization. The gasometer, built by the Ansaldo company between 1935 and 1937, celebrated by painters of the Roman school and by Pasolini, with its imposing mass, has become an undisputed symbol of the district, standing guard over the landscape across the river. During their performances, the actors and actresses of the Teatro di Roma tell about the history of the Teatro di Roma's second home, housed in the former Mira Lanza, a historic soap and solvent factory. Above all, they tell us of often-forgotten memories of workers, of the women killed by the Germans in 1944 on the Ponte dell'Industria - guilty of seeking food for their children - and of the statues guarding the Centrale Montemartini, a jewel of Art Nouveau architecture, built on the site of a small church, traditionally believed to be the one where Peter and Paul separated on their way to martyrdom.
The "Soap Bubbles" tours are led by Luca Scarlini; the rotating cast includes: Francesca Astrei, Antonio Bannò, Gloria Gulino, Michele Lisi, Sylvia Milton, Alice Palazzi, Lorenzo Parrotto, Martina Tinnirello, Giulia Trippetta, and Diego Valentino Venditti.
