Burn

From 28 to 30 April, the Sala Petrassi of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone will host the premiere of the new dance-theatre project by renowned American artist and set designer A. J. Weissbard.

Realised in co-production with Fondazione Musica per Roma and with the support of Orsolina28 Art Foundation, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma's new production is loosely based on Burn This, Lanford Wilson's dramatic play, and reflects on the themes of identity and change: the protagonists, four choreographers with different artistic languages, meet on stage in an emotional journey and a dialogue constructed through dance, in which styles and visions give life to new forms of expression.

On stage are Ève-Marie Dalcourt (Anna), Jonah Bokaer (Burton), Damiano Ottavio Bigi (Larry), Brandon Lagaert (Pale) and the Corps de Ballet of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, with costumes by Anna Biagiotti and direction, sets and lighting by Weissbard, accompanied by the narrating voice of John Malkovich ‒ who played Pale in the 1987 theatre version ‒ and original recorded music by Michael Galasso, arranged by Peter Cerone.
