Christmas lights turn on at Cinecittà World
Until 6 January, Cinecittà World, Rome's cinema and television theme park, becomes a magical film set for adults and children, who can star in the most beautiful film of the festive season.
Head to Christmas Street, the glittering New York of the 1920s, which is decked out in lights for the occasion, complete with carriages and giant gift boxes. Here, you will be enveloped in an enchanted atmosphere of attractions, live shows and new features worthy of the best Christmas films, including the new ice rink, an icon of the great holiday classics, and the evocative Christmas snowfall that whitens the street.
The magical day at the North Pole begins with the Christmas Show, which lights up the park to the tune of the most beloved Christmas soundtracks, together with the characters that symbolise the festive season.
There is also big news for Santa's House: Santa Claus has moved to an even bigger and more magical place and is ready to welcome young guests into his warm and cosy living room to take the most exciting photo of the holidays together. Children can write their letters and send them directly from the Elves' Room, where the hard-working helpers sort the mail bound for the North Pole. The experience is completed by a ride on I-Fly, the virtual roller coaster that transports you on Santa's sleigh as he speeds through the air to deliver gifts all over the world.
The Night That Changed Christmas is the new show that warms even the coldest of hearts with the spirit of Christmas and the story of Maestro Fiocco, a gruff toy maker who, thanks to a special encounter, rediscovers the magic of Christmas and returns to bring smiles to children's faces, celebrating the most authentic values of the festive season.
Meanwhile, the streets of the Far West welcome the brand new Elf Express – Lettere dal West (Letters from the West), an entertaining show in which elf postmen must deliver all the letters in time for Christmas Eve, amid twists, turns and laughter. But beware: the mischievous Grinch is also roaming the streets of the park.
To end the year in style, Cinecittà World is preparing for Italy's biggest New Year's Eve party. On 31st December, from 6 p.m. until the first light of the new year, the Park becomes a huge amusement village with 40 attractions, live shows, concerts, DJ sets, discos, dinners, gala dinners and dinner shows, and midnight fireworks. To close the festivities, on 6 January, the Befana arrives with sweets, surprises and lots of fun for all the children.
The programme is subject to change.
